First Aid & CPR training is mandatory for employees in the workplace; but unlike most other types of safety training, these skills and knowledge are

also applicable to an individual’s daily life.

With many employees cross border work is fact of life.

Red Cross Workplace Standard First Aid  

Nationally Recognized Workplace 1st aid Course

Duration: 16 hours
Certification: 3 years
Cost: $145

This standard first aid course is designed to provide skills that include and allow for management

of work place accidents and illnesses

     Skills Covered:

•  The EMS system
•  Check, Call, Care
•  Airway emergencies
•  Breathing and circulation emergencies

•  First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest

•  CPR & obstructed airway management

•  Hemorrhage control
•  Recognition of spinal injuries and stabilization of the injured worker until a higher

        level care is  available

•  Head and spine injuries
•  Bone, muscle and joint injuries
•  Sudden medical emergencies
•  Environmental emergencies

•  Poisons
•  WCB regulatory requirements and appropriate documentation.
  
  

Within  the Province of British Columbia this Occupational Health and Safety course is considered by WorkSafeBC to be equivalent to a WorkSafeBC Occupational 1st Aid Level I certificate.  All other

Provinces and Territories in Canada accept this course as a Standard 1st aid Certificate accepted in

the workplace.

This certificate is an Occupational 1st Aid Certificate that is

recognized in every Province and Territory in Canada
